We really hope you enjoyed your visit to the pop-up museum (our temporary home until we return to the castle in 2027) and if museums are your thing, why not volunteer with us? We have two volunteer roles which might be of interest to you.
We are dependent on volunteers to keep the museum running and we are really grateful to them for their knowledge, passion and commitment.
Volunteers who staff the museum reception typically do one three-hour shift a week, between Mondays and Saturdays during the main season which is 1 March to the end of the October half term. They welcome visitors, answer questions and queries about Haverfordwest and sell merchandise from the museum shop.
We also have a couple of back office roles where volunteers can help to catalogue the collection using a laptop which we will provide. If either of these posts are of interest please do not hesitate to contact the Curator, Dr Simon Hancock on 07968225156, simon615@btinternet.com or the online contact form.
Volunteering has so many benefits, not just on a CV but in avoiding social isolation, maintaining a routine and getting to know other volunteers.
You will enjoy meeting people from around the United Kingdom and the world.
We know you will really enjoy your time volunteering with us.
The museum holds full Accreditation status demonstrating that we meet national standards in terms of artefact acquisition, documentation, conservation, security, personnel management and financial stability.
The museum is an Accredited Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service (VAQAS) Attraction.
